Maiden Rare earths & kaolin/halloysite resource estimate
Our junior exploration Investment Ragusa Minerals (ASX: RAS) now has a maiden resource estimate for its rare earth, kaolin/halloysite project in WA.
The resources came in at:
- Inferred Rare earths resource = 36Mt at 1,356ppm Total Rare Earth Oxides (TREO)
- Inferred kaolin/halloysite resource = 96Mt at ISO-B kaolinite/halloysite bearing material
RAS’s resource sits on less than 5% of its project area so there is still scope for the company to increase its resource. The image below shows where the resource sits relative to RAS’s ground.
How does RAS’s resource compare to other projects?
RAS’s direct comparison has always been our other portfolio company Latin Resources’ kaolin/halloysite project which is just over the tenement boundary.
Latin Resources’ project has a 207mt kaolin/halloysite resource compared to RAS’s 96mt.
While RAS’s resource is smaller, the key point from todays news is that RAS has confirmed that two deposits are likely interlinked.
What’s next for RAS?
We are looking forward to the drilling results from RAS’s latest round of drilling at its NT lithium project.
We covered that drill program in a recent Quick Take which you can read here: Diamond drilling at lithium prospects underway
